Transform your aquarium substrate into a nutrient-rich powerhouse for up to 2 years.

Planatopia Roots is a premium substrate enhancer specifically engineered for the serious aquarist. Unlike standard fertilizers that leach into the water column and trigger algae blooms, Planatopia Roots uses a Smart Ion Exchange Mechanism. This ensures that essential nutrients are bound to the substrate and only released when your plants’ roots actually need them.

Perfect for heavy root-feeders like Amazon Swords, Cryptocorynes, and Vallisneria, this formula focuses on deep-tissue health and vibrant leaf pigmentation without the risk of Nitrogen or Phosphorus spikes.

Key Benefits:

  • 2-Year Nutrient Depot: A single application provides a steady, long-term supply of nutrients, significantly reducing maintenance frequency.

  • Vibrant Leaf Coloration: Formulated with non-soluble Iron and vital trace elements to intensify greens and reds while preventing leaf yellowing.

  • Advanced Algae Prevention: By locking nutrients in the substrate rather than the water, it starves surface-dwelling algae while feeding your plants.

  • Smart Ion Exchange: Natural clay-based binders release minerals only when substrate levels run low, optimizing plant uptake efficiency.

  • Livestock Safe: Nitrogen and Phosphorus-free formula ensures a stable environment for fish, shrimp, and sensitive invertebrates.

How to Use / Instructions

Usage Instructions

  1. For New Setups: Mix Planatopia Roots thoroughly with your base substrate before capping with a thin layer of gravel or sand.
  2. For Existing Tanks (Spot Feeding): Use tweezers to insert tabs 3–4cm deep into the substrate, localized near the root zone of heavy feeders.
  3. Safety Note: DO NOT add this product directly into the aquarium water. It must be buried within the substrate to function correctly.
